Rhaieen was born alongside her just-older twin brother Eban on a warm, moonlit Atsirian night. Under the light of the moons, their parents named them for the siblings of legend, hoping that they would grow to cherish one another as those siblings had in ancient myth.

And sure enough, Rhaieen grew to adore and idolize her older brother. Though she was the heir, being the daughter of wealthy parents, her brother's gentle disposition was something she envied and strove to develop herself. Rhaieen, though, was always more gentle than she believed herself to be, and when she was younger she became easily hurt and victimized. When this happened, Eban was most commonly the first one to come to her defense, and so Rhaieen made him into her pillar of strength. Whenever disaster struck or trouble came upon her, she could count on Eban to defend her from it. This knowledge strengthened her, and she was at last able to focus on her studies, and become strong as her life went on.

Years went by as Rhaieen learned all she had to in order to inherit the wealth and station of her parents. She focused her energies on the study of politics, language, business, and above all else, learning about people and their mannerisms. She could never be a reliable merchant, after all, if she did not even understand herself. Her studies progressed well, and she soon became the pride of her family. She grew beautiful as well as bright, and drew the eye of many a suitor.

Among these suitors were the two men, Kallen and Varnes. Both were handsome, both were kind to Rhaieen and seemed charmed by her, and both won half of Rhaieen's heart. When the time came to give her heart to one or the other, Rhaieen found herself torn, unable to choose. She loved them both dearly, though the two of them were different as night and day. For weeks she delayed making a decision, trying to find some alternative to having to choose between the two men. She'd grown too attached to both, and wanted both of them to be near her. But she knew it could not be this way, and she knew that this was the one time in her life that Eban could not help her.

With great difficulty, she finally chose Varnes. Kallen vanished from her life shortly afterward, before she gathered up the courage to attempt to make amends. Upset, but knowing that her own decision had brought this upon her, she pledged her attentions once again to her life as it stood now: her inheritance, her brother, and her betrothed. Much as the disappearance of Kallen hurt her, she knew that if she dwelled on it, she would only suffer. If she looked to the past, she would forget to look to the future.

As time went on, she slowly regained the strength that had been temporarily torn from her by choosing between her two loves. Her grief over Kallen's disappearance ended shortly -- she would not want Varnes to think poorly of her -- but for some time her studies and work suffered with seemingly no reason. Her instructors fretted, her parents worried, until one day when Rhaieen's work seemed to suddenly rocket past even its levels of before Varnes and Kallen. She was seemingly more determined than ever to prove herself, and so she did. She did, however, postpone her wedding with Varnes with many apologies to her betrothed, explaining that she still had much to learn before she would feel comfortable marrying.

One postponement turned into another, one year to two, and at last to six, and Rhaieen continues to press forward in her goals to be worthy of her inheritance and to make those she loves proud.

Rhaieen loves too much. First it was her brother, and then she tore her heart in two by having to choose between Varnes and Kallen. She devotes herself to anything or anyone she loves completely, without a second thought as to her own well-being or needs. She just wants to make those around her happy, especially those that she loves.

Along with making them happy, she wishes to impress them. She dislikes having anything said about her that is not praise, and the idea of it coming from the mouths of those she loves injures her. Thus, pleasing them and being something that they could be proud of is important to her.

Far from the meek girl she was in childhood, Rhaieen has now taken it upon herself to be responsible, wise, and beautiful all at once. Her studies run smoothly, and she believes herself more ready for her inheritance with every passing day. She is, however, rather satisfied with the person that she has become, and smiles often and freely. She is not afraid to show affection to those she cares for, and even those she does not know well can say that she is a friendly, gentle girl.

She dislikes the attitude that life is a game or a party; life is work, and life is learning. Without either of these, she would not be the woman she is now. To make a game of life is to make a mockery of it, she believes, and as such can come off sounding rather uptight or, in the worse cases, pompous.

Rhaieen has an odd fascination with the past, whether her own or that of other people. As such, she tends to look to her own life and her own decisions, and second-guesses herself often. If she had, if she had not. If she had chosen differently here, or there, or that other time, would she be a better person? A happier person? Often her thoughts wander to when she chose between Varnes and Kallen, and she finds herself wondering "what if?" But always she forces herself to put those feelings behind her, to accept that the past has gone and cannot be rewritten. Regret will do her no good, and while the nostalgia comes and goes often enough, often with bouts of depression, Rhaieen eventually rises above it and continues on.

Still, Rhaieen remains a gentle girl at her center, even with her responsibilities and her duties yet to come. She is softspoken and thoughtful, and rarely makes a decision without serious pondering. She has a fascination with beautiful things, whether in nature or not. She loves both Varnes and Eban dearly, and does her best to smile for them often. No matter what may come her way.

Rhaieen is slim and beautiful, with long limbs and wide golden eyes. Her eyelashes are long and dark, and her face is the model of beauty: high cheekbones, full lips, skin that is a medium tone. Her hair is long and curly, a rich red color that is slighly lighter in the front. Her body is nicely curved, though she can appear somewhat skinnier than normal. She dresses formally almost all of the time.
